Body language consists of unspoken language or non-verbal communication between individuals. Body language can confirm or contradict what an individual is thinking. It is an effective guide to a person’s true feelings. This information can be crucial when pursuing a business relationship. This article shall discuss how body language signs influence business relationships and how knowledge of basic body language can assist in forming a successful business relationship.

Body language sings consist of facial expressions, body gestures, posture, and other physical signals. These signals create non-verbal communication. For example, when a person maintains good eye contact with another person this shows comfort and confidence. Good eye contact also demonstrates interest in the message. Tilting the head slightly towards the speaker shows active listening and interest in the message.

The success or failure of a business enterprise can be determined by body language signs. Accordingly, understanding these signs is crucial to business success. One must understand not only the body language signs sent by others but also the signs which one sends to others.

The person entering into a business relationship must take care to transmit positive body language signs. For example, it is important to maintain good eye contact and avoid nervous movements as this will convey lack of comfort. One should face in the direction of the speaker and not fold his or her arms as this conveys lack of openness. Leaning towards the speaker demonstrates interest in the message.

The person entering into a business relationship must also be observant of others’ body language and must be quick to recognize negative body language. For example, a person who does not come very close to another person demonstrates uneasiness or lack of trust. A person who does not face in the direction of a speaker or who folds his or her arms shows lack of interest in the message. Nervous movements are also a negative sign.

An excellent example of a business situation ample with body language signs is a job interview. The job seeker must be careful to send out positive body language signs and at the same time must be observant of the interviewer’s body language signs. Body language signs are an excellent way to get a “feel” for the interview and allow the job seeker to adjust the approach to the interview while it is in progress.

Accordingly, body language signs have a tremendous influence on business relationships. These signs can be positive or negative. By observing these signs, one can take corrective actions when necessary or can continue forward if the signs are positive.

That's true, because one can easily know when they're making a negative evaluation of an important idea.
